A kiss is just a kiss ... or is it? Having just inherited his uncle’s viscountcy, George Bennett-Jones is encouraged by his mistress to find a bride, preferably the daughter of an aristocrat. Through a series of lessons, she instructs George on the finer points of meeting and courting a woman of the ton—and she has one in mind for him.

It’s love at first sight when George spies Lady Elizabeth Carlington dancing with the Earl of Trenton. But the auburn-haired beauty is quite sure the earl will offer for her hand, and she has every intention of accepting—even if his kiss is like that of her best friend’s dog!

When Elizabeth mentions the unfortunate kiss during the ball’s supper, George implies there is an art to kissing, innocently offering to replace her poor first impression with a proper kiss. Intrigued, and unaware that George is a viscount and a secret patron of her charity, Elizabeth accepts his offer at the next ball. George is more than happy to accommodate her. His kiss has the daughter of a marquess so stunned, so amazed and so aroused, she makes another rather unexpected request, one that gives George a chance against the blond-haired, blue-eyed Earl of Trenton .

Will the evening he has planned for Elizabeth convince her to accept his hand in marriage? Or simply leave her with a vivid memory of what she will be missing if she accepts the earl’s marriage proposal? The lessons of a mistress prove invaluable in The Kiss of a Viscount.

George Bennett Jones is now a viscount due to the death of his uncle. He goes to his mistress of six years and asked her to marry him again. She tells him he needs to marry a lady of the Ton . Lady Elizabeth Carlington would be a wonderful, match. Josephine helps Elizabeth's father in political matters and she suggests George as a candidate to him. George finally meets Elizabeth and it is love at first sight. Josephine teaches him how to please a lady especially sexually.A lot of readers found this offensive. Elizabeth in the book met her and became her friend. Elizabeth and George would get there HEA and you will meet them again in another book. I read this a long time ago but am rereading it again. I have read all the books in the series plus others by her she is a really good author.

The Kiss of a Viscount The Daughters of the Aristocracy Book 1 edition by Linda Rae Sande Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I enjoyed this book. I liked the characters, who all weren’t gorgeous, and the dialogs. The author did a good job with the personalities, which were believable and similar to some people that I know in real life. I look forward to reading more of her work!
This book could have been a five star except I did not like the hired mistress having such a part of the story. She coached the young man on how to love his lady. Who needs help in that?? She was even in the carriage when the two were making out. She gave a detailed account on how the young man should do foreplay up on the lady. Weird.
I read well & poorly written historical romances on a regular basis, especially if they're free. This one... I have had a very hard time getting through the first 50 pages, let alone the whole book. While trying to get through the first 8% I have had to skip a lot of it and I find it disappointing. I have abandoned it at this point as none of the characters have engaged me at the least to want me to continue reading. It is so poorly written and jumps around from character story to story in a disonnected way that makes it hard to follow. I suggest Linda Rae Sande get a better editor for her next novel series so that it may sell better. As a novice author myself, I know I would appreciate the constructive criticism. I wish the best for you in your future novels. Please do better.
GREAT BOOK ~ EASY READ ~ FUN TO READ ~ FUNNY BOOK AND YOU COULD PICTURE THE SCENE'S IN YOUR HEAD ~ I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ALL MY READER FRIENDS ~ THANKS FOR WRITING A WONDERFUL NOVEL, YOUR A GREAT WRITER & I LOVE GREAT BOOKS IN THIS PERIOD OF TIME.
This was an extremely well written story, even if the plot was so predictable . The author's twist and humorous take elevate this romance.

One pet peeve this story takes place over THREE days, from first meet to wedding proposal. I wish the author had used her skills to flesh out a more complex romance.
The reason I started my historical romance journey was because I fell for a wounded Lord and his orphaned charge in Judith McNaught's "Once and Always". Linda Rae Sande takes me back to that precious time. The Kiss of a Viscount speaks to the heart on every level. The beginning of a challenge becomes the culmination of something wonderful. I was head over heels for the story from first read and now that I've had the chance to hear this love ballad as an audio read, I am more in love than ever. If simple is sexy, than The Kiss of a Viscount is smokin' hot. A sensual feast in a sweet package.
What was really great about this book was that the Hero was less experienced than the typical handsome rogue who has had hundreds of women. The frank admission that sexual prowess is a learned skill, but also that "much can be overlooked where one feels loved" makes this aspect of the story seem so much more real than the constant parade of sinfully handsome Heroes. I even saw a parallel between his relationship with Josephine going from lover to best friend and a modern day situation of a man with a live-in girlfriend who over time drifts out of the partner relationship while remaining the best of friends. (I don't agree with it or think it is good, but I see the parallel.) Elizabeth, however, I found to be rather inconsistent, ridiculously slow to see the obvious, and overall rather silly. I also felt like deus ex machine played too prominent a role. Not a great read but not a bad one.
